IMPORTANT: In order to reduce the risk of fires, electric shock or personal injury, read and save these instructions prior to operation.
DO NOT cut or alter the Heat cable in any way or form.
DO NOT expose the plug to water. DO NOT submerge the cable in water. Not for use with aquariums or aquatic habitats.
DO NOT allow cable to cross over other strands of cable. DO NOT allow cable lines runs to be closer together than 3cm.
DO NOT plug this product in with the cables coiled together as extreme overheating and possible fire can occur.
DO NOT operate the unit with a damaged cord, plug or other component. If the cable shows any signs of damage, stop use immediately.
DO NOT alter or modify this product. Contact a qualified electrician if you are unsure about the electricial connection or components.
DO NOT encapsulate the cable or bury in terrarium substrate.
Only for use with glass terrariums. DO NOT use with terrariums made of plastic, wood or other material.

The electrical cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance should not be used anymore.

REPTI PLANET HEAT CABLE INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove the Heat Cable from the package and inspect for any damage to the cable or plug. If any damage is noticed, return the product to the point of purchase. This product must only be used outside of the terrarium.
NOTE: DO NOT allow the cable to cross itself as overheating could occur. Always maintain the minimum safety distance of 3cm betwen loops or lines of cable to ovoid overheating and possible fire!
Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature inside the terrarium. Be sure that the temperatur is within the appropriate range for your species. A digital infrared thermometer is a good tool for measuring temperatures in different locations throughout the terrarium.
We suggest to use the heat cable with a suitable thermostat.
The Heat Cable is perfect for use underneath a single glass terrarium or on the outside back wall of glass terrariums.
Attach the Heat Cable to the terrarium using small pieces of electrical tape as shown, making sure to maintain a minimum safety distance of 3cm between the heat cables.
NOTE: If the cable strands are closer than 3cm, oveheating can occur! Avoid sharp kinks of less than 1.3 cm radius.
The electrical connection must always be outside the terrarium. Plug the cable into an electrical outlet.
Check the electrical tape regularly to confirm that the cable is still securely taped to the glass of the terrarium. Check during each cleaning cycle or at least once a month and apply new tape if needed.
DO NOT put the terrarium directly on a hot surface. Ideal for use with REPTI PLANET terrariums (all terrariums have legs at the edges that provide enough space between the cable and the table top).This allows excess heat to escape and prevents damage to the heating cable, terrarium, animals, home furniture, etc.
